DREW'S RECYCLING PROJECTS
Drew's 4th grade Social Studies Recycling Project!
They had to use recycled objects to make something of their own. He wanted to make a "Mini Band" as he says.
He used a tissue box, paper towel roll and different sized rubberbands for the guitar, a Ramen Noodle Dinner styrofoam cup and wooden sticks for the drum and a plastic bottle with top cut off and macaroni for the maraca.
He did a really good job making them and Scott and I only helped him decorate them.
They either get an A, C or F on this project. He should get an A with making 3 things and all the time he had in making them.

GLOOMY WEEKEND - SICK KID
So far this has been a gloomy ole weekend!
Rainy and cold, and Tanner became sick lastnight too. He was fine earlier, we went to Walmart and stopped and ate supper. We were thinking about going to the football game, but with it raining and cold we decide not to. (Go Redskins kicked some major RV butt 52-6)
Anyway, after his bath, he came downstairs was freezing and said his stomach hurted, a few minutes later was puking.
He is running and temp, chilling and doesnt want to eat much today too. Poor kid!
Hopefully it will pass and he doesnt have to miss any school or have to go to the dr.
This crazy fall weather no wonder!!! lol

PUMPKIN ROLL RECIPE
Several of my friends have asked me what recipe I use for my pumpkin rolls.
I use the Libby recipe. Its pretty easy to make and YUMMO too.
Everyone loves them!! I should start making them and selling them. The boys brought home a fundraiser yesterday and they are selling them in there for $12 for 22 oz roll. WOW somebody sure is making some $.
PUMPKIN ROLLS...
CAKE
3/4 cup flour
1/2 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp ground cinnamon ( I use 1 tsp pumpkin pie spice instead of the cinnamon and cloves) never bought cloves before.
1/2 tsp ground cloves
1/4 tsp salt
3 large eggs
1 cup sugar
2/3 cup Libby's 100% Pure Pumpkin
1 cup chopped walnuts (optional)
ICING - FILLING
1 pkg (8 oz) cream cheese, softened
1 cup powder sugar
6 Tbsp butter or margarine, softened
1 tsp vanilla
Powdered sugar
FOR CAKE: PREHEAT oven to 375. Grease and lightly flour 15x10 inch jelly-roll pan (Again - I just use cookie sheet and it works perfectly). Sprinkle a thin, cotton kitchen towel with powdered sugar.
COMBINE flour, baking powder, baking soda, cinnamon, cloves and salt in small bowl. Beat eggs and sugar in large mixer bowl until thick. Beat in pumpkin. Stir in flour mixture. Spread into prepared pan. Sprinkle with nuts.
BAKE for 13-15 minutes or until top of cake springs back when touched.
Immediately loosen and turn cake onto prepared towel. Carfully roll up cake and towel together, starting at the narrow end. Cool on wire rack.
FOR FILLING: BEAT cream cheese, powdered sugar, butter and vanilla extract in a small mixer bowl until smooth. Carefully unroll cake; remove towel. Spread cream cheese mixture over cake. Reroll cake. Wrap in plastic wrap ( I put mine in plastic containers with lids) and refrigerate atleast one hour. Sprinkle with powdered sugar before serving.
I usually double this recipe, making 2 rolls. One small 15 oz can of pumpkin will make 2 rolls too, so your not wasting the extra pumpkin as well. =)
ENJOY!!

BEAUTIFUL FALL DRIVE
I needed to get out of this house!!! 10 days not going anywhere but to get my staples out Monday ... I was about to go NUTS!
My mom stopped by and we all decided to go get some lunch and then went for about a 3 hour drive, just looking at the beautiful fall scenery. We also went to Gospel Hill Lighthouse, but they were closed so we didnt get to go up inside it and look out.
I just love Fall.....with all the beautiful colors!
Grape Vinyard across from Gospel Hill
We loved looking at the farms and tractors!
Lake Park and Walmart view from Roscoe Hill
Grandma Rose and the boys by lighthouse.

HEALING UP MORE EACH DAY!
Its hard to believe it has only been 6 days today since my surgery!
I got my staples out yesterday and I'm feeling pretty good today. Scott had to go back to work this morning and Im home by myself for the first day and BORED!
I dont want to push feeling good though.....3 yrs ago I had my hysterectomy surgery and was out shoveling gravel 2 weeks later, but not this time around!! I need to take it easy! - especially being cut open. Its just hard for me to sit around and do nothing. So use to being busy, babysitting, taking care of everyone else and the house.
I cant drive, lift / move anything over 20 lbs, vacume or sweep for 3 weeks.
My pretty daisies up close ... I just love DAISIES!! Me and my daisies
COOL...I look like Mr. Wilson here. lol =)

NO LUCK....WATER BREAK!
Poor Scott....Thursday the night I came home from the hospital, we were just sitting down to eat supper when Scott saw water dripping aboved the kitchen sink - down the shelves.
He looked further and here we had busted a main cold water line upstairs beneath the bathroom sink. Of course almost 7 o'clock at night and noone open to get parts. So we had to shut the water off to the house til Friday morning when Ace opened up at 8:00. He ran down to Tractor Supply and his work to see if they had anything that would temp work, but no luck!
My bathroom was torn clean apart and a few kitchen tiles ruined. I didnt get any pics of the bathroom, but here is the biggest tile above my stove.
Hoping we can primer and paint them to match?? The last time we had to buy all new ones. This house has old plumbing and we are gradually getting them replaced one by one! Wish we could just do them all and get it over with. lol
Thank God I was home from the hospital or they probably would have been visiting me and came home to a much BIGGER mess. =( I just felt helpless because I couldnt do anything to help him!

On a lighter note....Im feeling alittle better everyday. My stomach is still sore some though. I get my staples out tomorrow afternoon. I think that will feel so much better, they are tender especially the one where my leg hooks on to my body - right side.
